I’m an instructional designer who mixes creativity, strategy, and a whole lot of curiosity. With a background in both education and the military, I’ve learned how to lead with purpose, design with intention, and never underestimate the power of a well-timed graphic or interactive moment. My approach is shaped by years of real-world experience—and a deep belief in learning that actually works.
I believe learning should be clear, practical, and maybe even a little fun. I design with purpose and always with the learner in mind. I constantly reflect on how I can make my work stronger—and I love teaming up with others to bring out the best in every project. People describe me as passionate, analytical, and detail-obsessed (in the best way). While I used to chase perfection, I’ve come to realize that in learning design, progress is perfection—and growth is the goal.
As an instructional designer, I draw from a strong foundation in both education and military service. My background in the U.S. Air Force—where I worked in logistics and human resources—along with years spent supporting adult learners, sharpened my leadership, problem-solving, time management, and communication skills. These experiences continue to shape my approach to learning design, helping me build solutions that are structured, practical, and adaptable to real-world needs.
Helping people grow is what lights me up. I love designing experiences that do more than tick a training box—they support real goals, spark confidence, and create meaningful change. Whether I’m crafting a bite-sized job aid or a full eLearning course, I aim for learning that’s thoughtful, useful, and ready to make an impact.
As an instructional designer, I specialize in creating customized learning solutions that are engaging, practical, and aligned with business goals. To bring these solutions to life, I use a suite of tools that support both design and delivery—each chosen to serve a specific purpose in the learning experience.
Articulate 360 (Storyline & Rise): I use Storyline to build interactive, scenario-based eLearning courses tailored to specific performance goals. For responsive, rapid development, I turn to Rise, perfect for clean, modern modules that deliver content in a scroll-friendly format. I leverage both to meet different learner needs and project timelines.
Canva: Canva is my go-to for designing visual elements—everything from job aids and infographics to branded slide decks. It helps me communicate complex information in a visually engaging and learner-friendly way.
Google Workspace & Office 365: These tools keep my design process collaborative and efficient. I use Docs, Slides, and Forms to gather input, storyboard, script, and test learning content—whether working with SMEs or stakeholders.
Vyond: For animated explainer videos or microlearning content, Vyond allows me to build dynamic, character-driven visuals that enhance storytelling and improve engagement.
Camtasia: I use Camtasia for screen recording, software simulations, and video editing—ideal for systems training, onboarding, or tutorials that walk learners through a process in real time.
I design and develop a range of learning experiences, including:
Custom eLearning courses
Microlearning modules
Job aids and quick-reference guides
Animated explainer videos
Instructor-led training materials
Onboarding and compliance training
Software/systems walkthroughs
Performance support resources
Each project begins with discovery: understanding the learner’s needs, business goals, and performance gaps. From there, I follow a structured yet flexible process:
Analyze: Identify learning objectives, audience needs, and success metrics
Design: Storyboard, script, and outline the experience
Develop: Build the solution using the most effective tools for the job
Deliver: Test, revise, and launch the final product
Evaluate: Collect feedback and measure impact
When you work with me, you can expect training that’s clear, engaging, and results-focused. I prioritize collaboration, creativity, and attention to detail—ensuring the final product not only looks great but drives real learning outcomes. Whether it’s improving onboarding, increasing retention, or boosting performance, my goal is to deliver training that works.
This badge is the culmination of a 9-month program called Applied Instructional Design Academy. It is earned after completing the ID Fundamentals, Rise, Storyline, eLearning Development, and Instructional Design Process badges. Earners complete 400+ lessons, receive extensive coaching, and complete a rigorous set of learning activities with practice, feedback, multiple revisions, and the completion of simulated client projects. of simulated client projects.
